Pete is involved in temporary traffic management audits and expert witness reports, operational safety assessments, road safety auditing and training for TMS.
Pete is a former Police Officer with 30 years experience of road traffic law enforcement. He was head of Thames Valley Police's Traffic Management Unit with responsibility for a specialist team of officers working with Highway Authorities and other agencies on road safety engineering and traffic management issues. In 1991 he was involved in the early home office trials of speed cameras and establishing the Force's Speed Camera Technology Unit.
After retiring from the service in 2001, Pete joined Amey Highways as a Traffic Safety Manager responsible for promoting safe working practices. A year later he returned to the world of speed enforcement when he was appointed to the Thames Valley Safety Camera Partnership's Project Team.
Pete joined TMS in 2003 as Senior Road Safety Consultant and specialises in delivering training on road traffic law; in particular traffic signs and speed limit signing, as well as safety management for those working on highways and roads.
In addition to this, Pete leads on the temporary traffic management training courses which are delivered in both the UK and Ireland. His knowledge and experience in Temporary Traffic Management has also meant that he is regularly called upon to provide technical advice for lawyers and expert witness reports for the Courts.
Pete has a Diploma in Accident and Safety Management, is a Fellow of the IHE and a member of their National Council.
