Design and Provision of Tactile Paving

Overview

A one day course designed to help delegates provide for disabled road users in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.  The course includes a number of workshops to give delegates a better understanding of the design and provision of tactile paving. The course is aimed at Engineers and Technicians designing new highway / traffic schemes or carrying out improvement schemes.

Aims and Objectives

  • To assist delegates to understand the issues involved in designing and installing tactile paving layouts
  • To  provide delegates with the knowledge, skills and understanding to carry out their professional roles
  • To provide the opportunity for delegates to network and discuss tactile paving issues
  • To provide advice to delegates on their own projects and improve their design and implementation skills

  • Tram line and ladder paving (for segregated footway/cycle tracks) 

Certification

Delegates completing this course will receive a CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT.
