Overview

A two-day course designed to provide an understanding of the principles and practice of designing roundabouts.  This course is aimed at a broad range of professionals who are involved in designing or assessing the adequacy of junctions. The course consists of informal short lectures, practical workshop and discussion sessions, case studies and examples. 

Aims and Objectives

The aim of the course is to assist delegates to understand the issues involved in designing and constructing roundabouts or carrying out improvements and to provide knowledge, skills and understanding to carry out their professional roles.

The course provides the opportunity for delegates to network and discuss local roundabout design process ansd give advice to delegates on their own projects and improve their design and implementation skills.

  • Designing for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Circulatory road markings
  • Segregated left turn slip roads
  • Compact roundabouts
  • Capacity issues including ARCADY 6
  • Road safety issues

Certification

Delegates completing this course will receive a CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT.
