Road Safety Engineering (10 Day Course)

Overview:

This is a non-residential 10 day course (Monday - Friday over two consecutive weeks) comprising a wide range of lectures and workshops in the first week and practical work in the second week. 

This course is suitable for those who require a solid, comprehensive understanding of the theory and practice of road collision/accident investigation and prevention. This course is designed for Engineers and Technicians working in local authorities, consultancies, the Department of Transport and Executive Agencies. It is also suitable for Road Safety Officers, Police and Armed Forces Personnel and other professionals concerned with road safety.

Completion of the course provides the 10 days formal training specified in HD19/15 by Highways England for Road Safety Auditors. Road Safety Audits can only be undertaken on trunk roads and motorways by suitably trained and experienced staff.

Delegates will work in teams during the second week to investigate and analyse a real-life case study and design an appropriate remedial programme. Each team produces a written report and a presentation on the final day of the course. 

Certification:

All Delegates completing this course will receive a RoSPA CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT. This certificate will comply with existing Highways England training requirements for 10 days formal training for Road Safety Audit as stated in HD19/15.

Course Location:

This course will be held at the Village Hotel in Coventry. The hotel is within walking distance from Canley, Coventry train station which also provides easy access to Coventry and Birmingham.

Course Fee:

Non-Residential : £2,100 excluding the VAT (the fee includes all course materials, refreshments and lunch during the course days)
