To assist those who are unable to attend the full 10 day training course, we are now able to offer this course in a modular format, on a non-residential basis. This can help delegates to manage costs and time away from their office.
The course content is identical to that of the full 10 day course. Delegates will be required to attend all of the 6 days of training and then complete a written report based on the case study given to the delegates during the last day, which evaluates to 4 days CPD, thus giving a total of 10 days CPD for each delegate successfully completing the course.
The report must be completed on an individual basis and will be required to be submitted to the tutor by a given date (normally one month from the last day of the course).
Those delegates not completing the case study report will be given a certificate of attendance for the training days attended.
This course is suitable for those who require a solid, comprehensive understanding of the theory and practice of road collision/accident investigation and prevention. This course is designed for engineers and technicians working in local authorities, consultancies, executive agencies and the Department of Transport. It is also suitable for Road Safety Officers, Police and Armed Forces personnel and other professionals concerned with road safety.
Completion of the course and case study report provides the 10 days formal training specified in HD19/15 by the Highways Agency for Road Safety Auditors. Safety Audits can only be undertaken on trunk roads and motorways by suitably trained and experienced staff.
All delegates completing this course and report will receive a RoSPA CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT. This certificate will comply with Highways England training requirements for 10 days formal training for Road Safety Audit as stated in HD19/15. (Delegates not completing the report to an adequate standard will receive a certificate relating to the days they attended the training).
