Road Safety Engineering – Assured by RoSPA (Modular)

Course Overview

The Road Safety Engineering (Modular) course content is identical to that of the full 10-day course. By now offering this course in modular format, it can help delegates to manage costs and time away from their office.

Delegates will be required to attend all of the six days of training and then complete a written report based on the case study given to the delegates during the last day; this equates to four days CPD. Subsequently a total of ten days CPD training for each delegate successfully completing the course.

This course is suitable for those who require a solid, comprehensive understanding of the theory and practice of road collision/accident investigation and prevention. This course is designed for engineers and technicians working in local authorities, consultancies, executive agencies and the Department of Transport. It is also suitable for road safety officers, police and armed forces personnel and other professionals concerned with road safety.

Completion of the course and case study report provides the 10-days formal training specified in GG 119 for Road Safety Auditors. Road Safety Audits can only be undertaken on trunk roads and motorways by suitably trained and experienced staff.

Aims and Objectives

The modular course provides delegates with the knowledge, skills, competency and confidence to undertake road collision/accident investigations and the opportunity to meet other road safety professionals and learn from each other.

The course also provides an informal, relaxed teaching environment in which delegates and tutors can share information.

Certification

All delegates completing this course and report will receive a RoSPA CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT. This certificate will comply with existing National Highways training requirements for ten days formal training for Road Safety Audit as stated in GG 119.

Delegates not completing the report to an adequate standard will receive a certificate relating to the days they attended the training.

Course Fee

The fee for this course is £2,300 + VAT per person, which includes all costs (course notes, RoSPA certification etc.). Please note that it does not include any accommodation, which will need to be arranged by the delegate if required.
