EV Charging – Increase in demand for Road Safety Audits
We have seen a noticeable increase in the number of requests from clients requesting Road Safety Audits to be carried out at EV Charging Point locations. This obviously coincides with the huge upturn in the use of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles and having to cater for the rising demand of convenient and accessible EV charging points throughout the UK.
We have recently carried out design stage road safety audits at numerous locations throughout Birmingham City Centre. The 100kw EV chargers are to be installed on the highway, which will include parking bays with dropped kerb access from the footway.
This makes for an interesting change from a safety audit perspective, and we anticipate there to be more demand for this type of work, both at design and construction stage, in the coming months and years ahead.
