Course Overview

A two-day course designed to provide a more advanced level of knowledge and experience on the audit areas covered and more challenging workshops. The advanced course is aimed at practicing safety auditors who want to build on their safety audit experience. The course consists of informal short lectures, practical workshop and discussion sessions, case studies and examples.

Aims and Objectives

The course gives delegates a more comprehensive understanding of road safety auditing at an advanced level. It provides delegates with the knowledge, skills and understanding to carry out their professional roles

The advanced course provides the opportunity for delegates to network and discuss more complex issues in auditing and to give advice to delegates on their own road safety audits to improve their audit skills.

Certification

Delegates completing this course will receive a CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT.

Please note that this is only available as an in-house training course to be delivered at your offices or at a venue of your choice.

Introduction to Road Safety Audit

Course Overview

A three-day course designed to give a comprehensive introduction to road safety auditing. Delegates will undertake a number of audits in small groups and receive feedback on the issues raised. After attending, delegates should be able to undertake Road Safety Audits more objectively and confidently.

This course is aimed at professionals who are expected to carry out audits, those who commission audits, at designers whose work is audited and at those who manage the road safety audit process.

Aims and Objectives

The course gives delegates a sound background to road safety audits and advice on safety issues related to a number of highway features. The course provides hands-on experience of carrying out road safety audits of a number of different scheme types and encourage delegates to share their experiences of road safety and highway design.

Certification

Delegates completing this course will receive a CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT.

Course Fee

The fee for this course is £850 + VAT per person, which includes all costs (course notes, certification etc.). Course Overview

A new one-day course designed to provide a history of road design in relation to built-up areas, publications and use of current guidance in the Urban Realm. With particular focus on Vulnerable Road Users and how to better protect them through design and engineering.

This course is aimed at those involved in all aspects of highway safety, planning and engineering within an urban environment who want to build on their knowledge of how our profession got to where we are today and how we can improve. The course consists of informal short lectures, practical workshops, discussion sessions and case studies.

Aims and Objectives

The aim of the course is to give delegates a more comprehensive understanding of how engineering plays a key role in the safety of Vulnerable Road Users.

The course provides delegates from all backgrounds with additional knowledge of key topics that can improve the safety within an urban setting supported by recent data. New areas of road design will be highlighted and gives delegates the opportunity to network and discuss these.

A one-day course designed for those people who are not directly involved in carrying out Road Safety Audits but are required to understand the Road Safety Audit process; including what is required of them, when commissioning or responding to Road Safety Audits.

Aims and Objectives

The aim of the course is to give delegates an introduction to the principles of road safety audit and to illustrate and discuss common problems that may affect highway safety. It will also inform and encourage colleagues to support casualty reduction activities in their day to day roles.
