Course Overview
This 10-day course comprises a wide range of lectures and workshops in the first week and practical work in the second week. It will also incorporate our new virtual reality headsets to help delegates understand the perspectives and challenges of different road users.
The course is suitable for those who require a solid, comprehensive understanding of the theory and practice of road collision/accident investigation and prevention. This course is designed for engineers and technicians working in local authorities, consultancies, the Department of Transport and executive agencies. It is also suitable for road safety officers, police and armed forces personnel and other professionals concerned with road safety.
Completion of the course provides the 10-days formal training specified in GG 119 for Road Safety Auditors. Road Safety Audits can only be undertaken on trunk roads and motorways by suitably trained and experienced staff.
Aims and Objectives
The course provides delegates with the knowledge, skills, competency and confidence to undertake road collision investigations and the opportunity to meet other road safety professionals and learn from each other.
The course also provides an informal, relaxed teaching environment in which delegates and tutors can share information.

All delegates completing this course will receive a RoSPA CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT. This certificate will comply with existing National Highways training requirements for 10-days formal training for Road Safety Audit as stated in GG 119.
