Samaritans’ Brew Monday 2023 (Blue Monday)

Samaritans' Brew Monday 2023 (Blue Monday)

We are glad to have partaken in the Samaritans Brew Monday on the 16th of January 2023. One of our Directors, Richard Cook, volunteers at the Solihull Samaritans branch, and the money raised went directly to the Solihull branch. The day was filled with activities to do for TMS and the other businesses around the Business Innovation Centre (BIC). We had a bake sale provided by the team at TMS and their families, as well as a quiz pack that donators could take home to do, with prizes for the top result!

After our lovely Office Manager, Jan, tallied up the results for the quiz. We had a number of prizes to give out to individuals from TMS team and the other BIC businesses.

From TMS, we had our auditors Richard Marriott and Darren Newbold achieving the top points and they earned themselves beverages ready for the weekend!

TMS and the other businesses around the Business Innovation Centre, managed to raise over £150 for the Samaritans charity! This donation was then matched by TMS and a total of £290 was raised for the charity. We would like to thank those who participated to help such an important cause. Until next year!

Richard offered these words about the fundraiser, “We have a great team of people here at TMS and in the Business Innovation Centre who always pitch in and help when we run a fundraiser. Volunteering at Samaritans is something which I am very passionate about, I know that the money raised will go to making sure the Solihull branch can be there for people who need a listening ear day or night.”

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2022

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2022

TMS Consultancy once again took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Thursday 29th September 2022. It was an enjoyable day full of coffee, cakes, and conversations with the tenants of the Business Innovation Centre (BIC). The goal was to fundraise to help further the good works of the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. The event was organised by our office manager, Jan, who did a lovely job as always.

Our bake-off style competition was very competitive, especially as there was a prize (a Sara Miller London Chelsea Cake Slice) up for grabs and was judged by the BIC Centre Manager, Victoria. The baked goods were judged based on the presentation and taste.  This year we had a variety of entries from cupcakes and brownies to banana bread. The competition was strong, but our star baker Lorna Charles, continued to defend her title and was the winner for the second year running. Her entry for this year was Pina Colada cupcakes, which Victoria was really impressed with! She loved the way they looked and tasted.

TMS would like to thank the BIC Tenants for their support and helped an amazing cause. This year we raised £380.20 which was almost double the amount we raised previously, well done to everyone!

TMS will match this donation to bring the grand total to £760.40. We will continue to support the Macmillan charity and look forward to more coffee mornings in the future!

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2021

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2021

TMS Consultancy are proud to have hosted a Macmillan coffee morning in our new office space with the main goal to raise money for the cancer support charity, while getting to know the other businesses around the Business Innovation Centre (BIC). Organised by our office manager Jan (left), she made sure the coffee morning would be a great success!

To make sure our cakes were the best TMS can offer, we had our own inhouse bake-off competition in which the TMS family and other businesses around the BIC participated by bringing their own cakes to be judged by the other businesses to come through our doors. Our very own Lorna (right) who is our Business Development manager won the competition having baked a white chocolate raspberry loaf cake (recipe here), which everyone loved and now currently holds the title as the best baker at TMS consultancy!

We are extremely thankful for The Business Innovation Centre in Binley Business Park for taking part in our coffee morning having raised £224.79 which TMS Consultancy will match, so that we can bring our total to £449.58 as we continue to actively support the Macmillan charity. We hope that everyone enjoyed the cakes we baked and hopefully we will have more organised soon!

TMS raises over £110 at the Macmillan Coffee Morning

TMS raises over £110 at the Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Monday 30th September, TMS held a Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. This charity has personal meaning for many of the staff at TMS, particularly over the last year.

Some of the staff at TMS baked some amazing cakes for the cause, including a very impressive Chocolate Orange Cake, Lemon and Blueberry Bundt, decorated Victoria sponge, Coconut, Lime and Rum cake and a Blueberry and Lemon frosted cake together with lots of other yummy treats.

As it is ‘Bake Off’ time of year, we decided to hold our very own. This was judged by a neighbouring company in our building and they crowned Jan as the winner with her showstopper!

We had a lovely morning and lots of people dropped by to taste the delicious cakes and kindly donate to the charity. TMS raised over £110 which was amazing, so thank you to everyone who came along and offered their support and of course well done Jan!
